Sorry Malcolm, but this is total nonsense.
The vast majority of Australians want the Labor version of the NBN, with fibre connection to the home. They don’t care how much it costs, and they really are prepared to wait longer if it means a better service.
Your election victory was NOT a mandate to implement your version of the NBN. The main reason the Coalition got the vote was because a) we were sick of the dog-and-pony show that was the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd government, and b) you were the only real alternative that was left (yes, I know there was The Greens, but no one is ever going to give the reins to a bunch of far-left whack jobs. We’re not THAT desperate – not yet anyway).
The simple truth Malcolm, is that the vast majority of Australians did NOT vote for your version of the NBN, we voted for you because we like the other guys a lot less than we like you – you’re the best of a bad bunch, ‘baddies vs baddies’ as your leader so eloquently put it.
Do not mistake disappointment with one party as endorsement for yours. They are not the same thing.
