No Whyalla No Emerson!

After watching our politicians screw up the asylum seeker thing, then watching(??) Craig Emerson’s stupid attempt at singing, I am giving VERY serious consideration to not voting at all at the next federal election.

Voting has always been a social responsibility that I was taught to take seriously, both as a citizen and as a Christian. Well the way I see it, responsibility cuts both ways. I think our pollies have a responsibility to take their role seriously. To take look at issues seriously, to debate intelligently, listen to their constituents and lead with some kind of moral integrity.

This is the latest in a series of silly stunts by silly people who should be permanently banned from representing anyone or anything. No party is innocent and the thought that my vote might possibly go towards electing people like this sticks in my throat.

I know voting is compulsory, I know that there are penalties for not voting, but at this point I’m almost willing to take the risk.
